Renewal

Keeping your Florida Certified Master Builder designation is simple. Your certification renews biennially in the month you became certified.
For example, if you were certified as a Florida Master Builder in July 2024, your renewal would be due by July 31, 2026.

For renewal, Florida Certified Master Builders must:

• Attend six Master Education sessions per renewal cycle. Master Education Sessions will be presented on Zoom and at the Southeast Building Conference.

• Submit required documentation, along with bi-annual renewal fee

• Continue to meet these eight qualifications:

  1. Derive their principle income from the building industry
  2. Maintain a client satisfaction rating of 4 or better out of a scale of 1-5, where 5 is the highest satisfaction rating
  3. Offer clients a written contract on all building and remodeling projects
  4. Issue a minimum of a 1-year Home Warranty on all newly constructed projects
  5. Have a clean building record
  6. Pass a criminal background check
  7. Have a credit rating of 700 or better
  8. Be a member in good standing of a professional building industry association

A Florida Certified Master Builder certification costs $975 for the initial certification and $375 for re-certification every two (2) years.
